Of course, t-shirts are one of the most comfortable, stylish, and versatile pieces of clothing. Comfort depends on the material from which they are made. One would wonder how they are made, as many of us use them, but we don't know anything about the mass production process. In this article, we will discuss the manufacturing process of T-shirts.

Clothing History

It all started a long time ago, and we will briefly review the origin of hominids. Because of the low temperatures, they need protection, which is why they use animal skins to cover their bodies to keep them warm. Over the years, prehistoric humans began twisting together long grasses such as wicker to make baskets and mats. It was in this way, by joining and twisting a set of fibers, that they could obtain a thread from which they could make clothes.

As a result, manufacturing techniques were refined over time until they reached today's level. This has led to a marked increase in the production of clothing, a shift in t-shirt trends, and an increasing number of curious aspects that we discover about clothing and the way it is worn.

These t-shirts are suitable for any body shape, from children to seniors. Adult sizes are usually available in small, medium, large, and extra large, while toddler sizes are determined by month and weight. In addition, to compensate for the large impact of a child's head relative to the body, the shirt has specially designed shoulder vents that can be fastened with buttons or snaps.

T-shirts come in a variety of colors, designs, and neck styles, including traditional crew necks and V-necks. T-shirt sleeves can be plain, long, raglan, or short. Trims and pockets with decorative elements are other features.

T-Shirt Production Steps

The T-shirt manufacturing process involves the following steps:

Choose Fabric

There are many different types of fabrics on the market today, from cheap to expensive, and the quality corresponds to the price. A key factor in the durability of a t-shirt is the fabric. Therefore, choosing the right fabric will help in producing a quality product.

Nowadays, the popular fabrics that many customers choose include crocodile pattern fabrics, shark fabrics, cotton fabrics, cotton blended fabrics, etc. Among them, cotton fabrics are considered to be the most durable and beautiful.

Pattern Making

Once the right fabric is selected, the manufacturer will either develop the pattern by machine or directly emboss it by hand, providing the customer with a sample image of the shirt.

Spread the Fabric

The next step is to unroll the fabric and check the fabric for errors. Is it enough to make samples for customers?

The roll of the fabric also needs to be laid flat on the cutting table. When sewing to size in large batches, manufacturers often overlap layers of fabric to minimize cutting time.

Cut Fabric

An industrial cutter cuts the fabric into sections based on a previously developed pattern. To minimize fabric waste, use markers to line up all pattern pieces on the area of the fabric to be cut.

Once cut, the manufacturer proceeds to size the shirt and remove excess fabric to proceed to the next stage.

Printing/Embroidery

After cutting out part of the shirt, you can print or embroider the design on the shirt if desired. Printing and embroidery are fast with the help of industrial machines and prefabricated molds. After printing, the fabric is pressed to increase the durability of the print.

Sewing Cut Fabric

Next, the fabric sections are passed through a sewing device to assemble the individual parts together.

Cut off Excess Thread

After sewing is complete, the shirts are transferred to the buttoning department where the excess thread is trimmed. Shirts may wrinkle and wrinkle during the sewing process. At this time, the workers are responsible for ironing the shirts to make them smooth and beautiful.

Quality Inspection

The QC department will re-inspect the entire finished product to see if the stitching is beautiful. If there is any error or damage, supplementary records will be made immediately to ensure the quality of the product.

Ironing and Packaging

If the shirt ensures the required quality, it is packed and labeled for shipment to the customer.

Check the Quantity

Then continue to check the quantity of goods as required, and record the shirt size and color to make a bill of lading. Count the number of T-shirts. Check the number of shirts and write them down on the delivery note

Deliver Goods

Finally, the delivery unit will deliver the goods to the customer.
